What the coaching covers
Who this is for
Technical ski coaching in Méribel is for skiers who get down most of the mountain already and want to ski it better. Steep terrain, off-piste and variable snow, carving and race technique, or moguls. If nerves rather than technique are in the way, start with ski lessons for when nerves are holding you back.
What we work on first
Most of it comes back to three things. Where you stand on the ski, the shape of the turn rather than braking at the end of it, and letting the legs steer under a quiet upper body. Coaching is how you ski. Being shown where to ski is a different booking, private guiding across the Three Valleys.
Moguls, steeps and changeable snow
Bumps are where technique gets found out. Shorter turns, the legs absorbing the shape of the ground, a light pole touch for timing, and a line you can actually ski rather than the fastest one. Hard morning snow and chopped up afternoon snow ask different questions again. We pick the run to suit the day.
Several days rather than one
One session can fix one or two things. Three or four days running is what makes them stick, because you get to repeat them in different snow and different light. Sessions are one to one, or a small group who booked together. There is a page on that, one to one ski lessons.
Where the coaching starts, and how long
Coaching starts at La Chaudanne, by the Rhodos bubble lift in Méribel Centre. Tell me what you want to work on when you book. Mottaret and Méribel Village have other meeting points. Sessions run from one hour up to four, morning or afternoon. A single hour is only bookable later in the season.
