Below describes the types of lift passes available depending on experience and budget.
Passes can be bought online and picked up in resort... make sure you buy through the lift company in resort of your accommodation (as Méribel Mottaret has a different lift company to the rest of Méribel valley.

Wherever you are staying in the Méribel valley there are suitable absolute beginner slopes (with travellators/moving carpets), green slopes & easy blues to get you up and running.
A special Beginner Pass, called the 'Mini Pass' will suffice for a few days until you become more confident to explore further.

Once you are able to handle blue runs, and want to explore more, you could choose between a Méribel Valley pass or a 3 Valleys pass (depending on budget).

If you want to make the most of your time on the mountain, and see all the area has to offer, then there is no better option than a 3 Valleys pass.
The whole ski area (that actually now spans into a fourth valley) statistics are: -
7 different ski resorts and 310 pistes covering a distance of over 600km, comprising: -
.44 green pistes & 129 blue pistes;
107 red pistes & 30 black pistes;
6 terrain parks.

A pedestrian pass is also available allowing use of some lifts so pedestrians can meet up with friends at lunch: -

Additionally there are many walkers routes and a specific route map is available for these (ask at lift pass offices).
